Operating Systems
Security Consulting and Cooperative research (SCCR)
This task seeks to help OS researchers understand and address security
issues of new OS paradigms earlier in the operating system development
cycle. TIS is working with university operating system researchers and
other DARPA-specified research groups to enhance their knowledge of
security issues and approaches.
Extensible Operating System Security
The new, more dynamic OSs being deployed to meet emerging computing
needs differ from time-tested architectural concepts and thus raise new
security issues. This project is investigating security mechanisms
needed by next-generation, dynamically configurable OSs.
